Vacation trip 2018
This year we decided to have our vacation in Thailand and do a little Island hopping along the way. We started our journey flying from Amsterdam to Bangkok with Emirates and had a little stop in Dubai. After a long 16 hour trip, we landed and got a grab to our hotel. In Bangkok, we did a view things one day we had a trip on a boat and sail around we went to a smaller floating market which was nice. After we went to the Wat Arun temple. Be aware that when you go off to the temple you have to pay an extra fee where the boat is dropping you of and like most boats or boat will drop you off earlier than the arranged time. Also, we visited some night markets and had some relaxing day at the hotel before we flew to Chiang Mai.
Sadly we had in Chiang Mai a lot of rain. But our hotel Old City Wall Inn was amazing great staff and delicious food. We also went on a tour with Mr. Sung a local where we did rafting went to a waterfall and visit an ethical elephant sanctuary. Then we flew to Suratthani where we got a cab who drove us for 3 hours to a hotel near the ferry, this way we could have a ferry for 2 hours and be on the Koh Tao. Sadly our stay in this hotel was not really great since the matres lead on the floor this way we got a lot of bedbugs so be aware to see if to check the beds if you lay on the floor. Koh Tao was really lovely when we arrived on the ferry it’s great to have a hotel pickup so you can go straight to your hotel since it is quite crowded. Our stay was great there a lot of suns so be protected and nice beach clubs to have dinner. What I also really liked is that Koh Tao is a bit more alive in the centrum with dinner clubs etc this was not the case in Koh Phangan.
In Koh Tao, we also did a snorkel tour be aware that there are jellyfish in some area’s since I got stung by one. After our stay in Koh Tao, we went with the ferry to Koh Phangan. Koh Phangan is a great Island to be on with a nice resort because as I said previously that there is a not a lot of activity on the island when there is no full moon party. So it is really nice then to completely relax in your resort. After our stay in Koh Phangan we went back to Bangkok to finish off our trip to fly back to Amsterdam.
